Meet Our Groomers

MEET SAVANNAH

Savannah joined our team in January of 2018. This is her story:

"I have enjoyed dog grooming for about 5 years now. I've also worked with many different types of animals for the past 12 years. I have a huge love for animals! My own pets range from various dogs to pot belly pigs, horses, and even raccoons. You can say my love for animals knows no boundaries!

My parents often remind me how I would bring home every stray or abandoned critter as a child in hopes that I'd be allowed to keep it. Growing up, I always knew I wanted a career involving animals, and for a long time my goal was to become a veterinarian. After ruling out being a veterinarian because of the extensive schooling, I thought becoming a vet tech might be a good choice. Unfortunately, due to uncontrollable circumstances, that dream never took flight.

When I was 19, I was give an opportunity to work at a Pet Grooming salon. I was primarily kennel staff and would assist in bathing and prepping pets for the Groomer. It was during this time I realized how much I enjoyed working with the dogs and felt that grooming would be a good career option for me. Because of my drive and interest to learn the skill, I was offered an apprentice position in the grooming salon and it's taken off from there.

I've been grooming now for several years and I genuinely love my occupation. I'm so happy that I'm able to do something that brings me joy each and every day. I never realized how labor-intensive the job of a groomer was until I became one. This job is not for the weak, but at the end of the day, it's worth it to see clients' smiling faces and clean and happy pooches.

MEET KAITIE

Kaitie joined our team in early May. This is her story:

"I've always been an animal lover. I got into raising miniature dachshunds and love it!

For years I knew I wanted to do something with animals, but I just didn't know exactly what. I thought about being a veterinarian but the schooling was just so much that I realized I needed to go in a different direction. I love dogs;  my dogs are my children.

My friend Savannah has groomed dogs for years and I liked to shadow her and thought grooming would be a fun thing to do, but never thought I would ever get an opportunity to do it. Savannah now works for Linda's Grooming Palace and she told me that Linda was looking for another groomer to train so I went for my interview with her and got the job!

I love the mobile unit. I love driving around from house to house seeing different dogs and their owners as well as different scenery compared to being cooped up in a building all day. I plan to have many more years with Linda's Grooming Palace.
